Summer is slowly giving way to autumn, and winter sports enthusiasts are getting ready for the cold season. For many skaters, this is the time when inline skates disappear into the basement until spring. But your skates can also be used during winter: remove the wheels – insert the ice blade. With our ice blades for inline skates, you can conquer ice rinks and frozen lakes in no time.

In addition to swapping wheels for blades, it is also possible to replace the entire frame with an ice blade frame. For this, the frame of your skates must be removable (screwed on) and must match the mounting distance required by the new ice blade. Installation Guide der-rollenshop.live – Ice Blade

The ice skate blade is mounted in place of the wheels. It is attached using the original screws (axles) of the inline skates. This turns your inline skates into fully functional ice skates in just a few simple steps. The blade comes pre-sharpened and is ready to use immediately.

You will need for the conversion:
  • Ice blade
  • 2 spacers per screw/axle (spacers included in delivery)
  • Tools (depending on the screw head type)

Important Information: For installation on inline skates with 6mm axles, these adapter sleeves are required. (8 pieces)

Remove the wheels

To install the ice blade, you must first remove the wheels from the inline skates.
Important: Use the correct tool according to the axle type. In most cases, this will be a standard 4mm hex key. Some manufacturers may also use Torx heads. For two-piece axles or screws with a counterpart, you will need two matching tools.

Tip: With our multi-tool you’ll always have both tools at hand, and you can also remove the ball bearings from the wheels.

Prepare the installation

Once the wheels are removed, the ice blade can be mounted. For this you will need:
  • Ice blade
  • Spacers (two per axle)
  • Skate axles
  • Tools
For inline skates with 4 wheels per skate, you will need 8 spacers (per boot). For models with 3 wheels per skate, you will need 6 spacers. Use the original inline skate axles to mount the ice blade.

Mount the ice blade

Now the ice skate blade is installed:
  • Insert the axle slightly into the frame
  • Slide a spacer onto the axle
  • Position the ice blade. Make sure the blade is oriented correctly. Text on the outside and front = forward
  • Slide the second spacer between the ice blade and the frame
  • Push the axle completely through
  • Tighten the axle


Ensure that the axle/screw is tightened firmly again.

Install all axles

Now install all remaining axles and check all screw connections again!

Done!

Hit the ice!
The blades come pre-sharpened and are ready for immediate use. Just like regular ice skates, the ice blades should be sharpened regularly. This can be done directly at most ice rinks.

Also make sure to dry the blades with a towel after use. This prevents surface rust and ensures you can enjoy your ice blades for a long time.
