Powerslide Trident Trinity Ice Blades

Short Description

The Powerslide Trident Trinity Ice Blades (Trident Ice Blades) are ice blades that can be attached to a Powerslide inline skate using the Trinity Mounting System. This allows you to use the same boot both on the road and on the ice, saving space in, for example, your home storage. Another advantage is that you can enjoy excellent comfort while skating on ice. The blades were designed in collaboration with the REIGN Hockey brand and tested by many professionals.

Product Details

  • Frame (Bladeholder): 6061 aircraft aluminum, extruded and CNC-machined, Trinity Mounting
  • Blade: Heat-treated 8CR14Mo vanadium steel (3.5mm thickness, hardness approx. 56 HRC, pre-sharpened)
  • Weight: 308g (Size M, 36-41)
(Also available in Size L, 42/43; XL, 44-46)
  • Contents per pack: 2x Ice Blades, 1x Torx 25 key, 6x T25 screws

Installation

The Trident Ice Blades can be easily mounted on the boot of your choice, just like a regular frame. The boot must, of course, be equipped with the Trinity Mounting System. (If this is not the case, you can opt for the Powerslide Sabre blades or the der-rollenshop.live blades instead.)

The boot used in this test is a Powerslide HC Evo Pro, size 45. The Powerslide Trident Ice Blades used are therefore size XL (blade length: 335mm).

First, remove your inline skating frame. Then, the Trident Ice Blades can be mounted in the preferred position on the boot using the supplied screws. In this test, it took 12 steps, one for each screw ;-)

Once the blades are mounted, make sure to tighten all screws again to ensure they don’t come loose. And now, off to the ice!

On the Ice

From the moment of putting on the skates—sorry, I mean the ice skates—it felt familiar on my feet. It’s a world of difference compared to the rental ice skates most people know. The comfort is just as good as inline skating, with the difference being that you’re gliding on ice instead of asphalt.

After a few calm laps on the ice, it was time to put the blades to the test. Quick starts, sharp turns, and abrupt stops are no problem at all with the Powerslide Trident Ice Blades. Even jumps on the ice, such as transitioning into backward skating, are handled effortlessly.

In terms of agility and maneuverability, the blades are just as good as those of hockey skates. Quick turns are easily possible, making slalom skating through crowds incredibly fun.

During the nearly 3-hour test, there were no issues with loosening screws or anything similar. (Of course, screws need to be tightened properly—just be careful, because after “tight” comes “broken.” ;-) The blades were tested in their factory-sharpened condition.)

Conclusion

The Powerslide Trident Ice Blades leave a high-quality and solid impression. They are lightweight and equally easy to mount. In just a few minutes, an inline skate can be transformed into an ice skate.

On the ice, the blades perform excellently. Various skating maneuvers are effortless, and their agility makes sudden turns to avoid unexpected obstacles a breeze.

All in all, the Powerslide Trident Ice Blades are a must-have for anyone who doesn’t want to give up inline skating even in icy temperatures or bad road conditions, and who values a skating experience comparable to hockey skates. The Ice Blades feel like a rocker frame with 80 or 90 mm wheels and are incredibly fun to use.
