Powerslide HC Evo Pro Trinity - Freeskates
Powerslide launches the Powerslide HC Evo Pro Trinity, a free slalom skate with three wheels and Trinity mounting. What this skate can do and whether it also convinces qualitatively, we clarify in the following test report.
The skate comes as a soft boot with carbon shell to suit its field of application. There is also the possibility of MyFit heat adjustment, but more about this later. Optically the skate is kept in black, with white accents. This is rounded off by the carbon visible at the heel. The lacing is done classically via laces. For a stable hold on the foot, three fasteners were mounted on the skate. In the toe area there is a velcro fastener. Over the chip and at the cuff one sets on ratchet closures. Thus it takes a little longer to put on the skate, but it sits afterwards surely and firmly at the foot. Our test riders liked the possibility of Myfit heat adjustment. This allows the skater to deform the skate exactly for his feet. You will find instructions for this here (insert link) A certain basic fit between foot and skate must, of course, be given here beforehand. In order to prevent damage to the boot, a bumper has been mounted on the outside of the boot, which can also be changed if necessary. From our point of view a useful addition.
When choosing the frame, Powerslide uses a 3x 90mm setup, which is attached to the boot with the Trinitiy system. The frame is mounted with two screws in the front and one in the back of the boot. This has the advantage that the power transmission during skating is increased once again and that the distance between boot and rollers is smaller than with conventional two-point mounting systems. These features ensure a lower standing height, more safety and stability while skating. The driving characteristics of the 90mm UC Undercover wheels in combination with the Wicked Twincam ILQ 9 bearings were rated very good in our test. Rolling behaviour and grip left nothing to be desired with our testers. In "normal" operation, longer distances can also be covered with the skate, but the intention behind this skate is different. He wants to be circled around curves and pilons. To increase the manoeuvrability you can use the track rockers. The two rear axles of the frame are loosened and turned. Since the axles are not centered on the mount, the rear two rollers can be raised. This leads to the desired rocker effect. In both configurations this skate gets top marks in our test in terms of power transmission, manoeuvrability and control. It is important to mention that the skate has no brake and a subsequent assembly is not possible.
Conclusion:
Our test showed that the skate feels absolutely at home in the areas of freeride and slalom. With it it can be cruised quickly through the city and around every curve. Once you have arrived at the slalom spot, the skate can quickly be converted into a slalom skate and show what it can do. In terms of quality, the HC Evo Pro Trinity convinced us completely. Here nothing wobbles and rattles and even after our extensive test the skate shows no unusual damages. This skate is certainly something for advanced riders who know what they want.
